The first of the trio of hills named for colours, this can be approached from either Glasheen (V76140 84006) or A (V77955 81514). Better still, if you have two cars start on the Loch Acoose side and finish in a civilised manner in the excellent Stepping Stone Café just at the end of your descent into the Bridia Valley. Beann Bhán and Beann Dubh can be easily handled in the same excursion. The views are great but the ground is wet and slippy and fairly steep descending Binn Dearg for Beann Bhán. Notable views of Caher, Mullach an Aitinn, Stumpa Duloigh and the wild Uibh Ráthach country. Linkback: new.mountainviews.ie/summit/620/comment/17743/
